mixed technique Collage: Linocut and cyanotype

A manual collage work using two pictorial techniques:

The cyanotype was invented by the Englishman John Herschel (1792-1871) in 1842. The process is based on the sensitivity of iron salts to light. The latter transforms the ferric salts into ferrous salts. A sheet of paper is first coated with a brush with a solution of potassium ferricyanide and ammonium ferric citrate. The sheet is then dried and placed under a negative and exposed to light. The salts then yellow, which produces the image. When the sheet is washed in clear water and dried again, the yellow turns to a deep, intense blue, similar to a mineral pigment: Prussian blue. The positive image thus obtained is permanent, i.e. very resistant to light.

Linocut is a technique of engraving on linoleum.
All stages of creation: from drawing to engraving the support, its inking and printing are carried out by hand, by hand.

Each print is printed one after the other by hand, so there are slight variations from one print to the next. This highlights the true handmade quality of the artwork and is part of the beauty and originality of each piece.

Each print comes unframed. It will be packaged carefully to be protected from transport. The prints are sent - unframed - in a protective sleeve by La Poste.
